トランシルバニアのウシャク祈りの絨毯 Transilvanian Ushak Prayer Rug

Siebenburgenまたはトランシルバニアと呼ばれる絨毯は、Siebenburgenのプロテスタント教会で見つかったものです。いくつかの絨毯には、裏に寄贈された場所、日付、寄贈者の情報が記載されたラベルが付いています。Siebenbürgen/トランシルバニアは、ルーマニアの南部と東カルパチア山脈と西シーベンビュルゲン山脈の間の地域です。1541年にこの地域はオスマン帝国の支配下に入り、トランシルバニア公国のオスマン帝国の保護国となりました。伝説によれば、スレイマン大帝は彼の友好的な態度とキリスト教に対する尊敬の印として、美しい絨毯をクロンシュタット（ブラショヴ）の黒教会に贈ったとされています。明らかに、教皇は喜び、彼の教会の装飾として美しい絨毯の2,000枚を注文しました。絨毯の使用は宗教の領域に長く留まることはありませんでした。やがて商人たちはアナトリアの絨毯の新しい市場を見つけ、繁盛する貿易が発展しました。この絨毯のオリジナルに合った最適な色彩が使用されています。

Carpets called Siebenburgen or Transylvanian are those which have been found in the Protestant churches of Siebenburgen. Some of them carry a label on the back stating where, when and by whom the piece has been donated to the church. Siebenbürgen/Transylvania is an area between the South and the East Carpathian and West Siebenbürgen mountains in Romania. In 1541 the area came under the rule of the Ottoman Empire and became a Turkish protectorate of the principality of Transylvania. Legend has it that Suleiman ‘the magnificent’ sent his vizier with the gift of a beautiful carpet to the Black Church in Kronstadt (Brasov) as proof of his friendly disposition and respect for the Christian religion. Apparently, the patriarch was overjoyed and ordered 2,000 of the beautiful pieces as decoration for his churches. The use of carpets did not remain for long the domain of religion; soon merchants discovered a new market for the Anatolian carpet and a flourishing trade developed. The most appropriate colors to match the original is used for this rug.
